Dr. Sutton is the founder and director of the Institute for the Advancement of Psychotherapy. |

Phil believes that all clients deserve to be supported in an empathic caring environment, that emphasizes goals and resolution to presenting issues. His time as a clinician and educator has provided him a wealth of practical knowledge. He employs this knowledge in the treatment of ADHD and the impact it can have on academics, families, and relationships. |

He has been involved in the treatment of ADHD and learning disabilities for the past twenty five years. Currently, he is Adjunct Professor at Alliant International University-San Francisco and his areas of specialty include family/couples therapy, ADHD, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse, trauma, child abuse, supervision and training. . He is a certified trainer and supervisor in Brief Strategic Family Therapy and is certified in both Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy and EMDR. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of The Family Institute of Pinole (FIP), one of the leading couples/family therapy training programs in the country. |
![]() | Anne-Olivia Shelton, Psy.D. - Psychologist Dr. Shelton is a licensed psychologist who specializes in psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. She focusing on testing for ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and emotional issues. Dr. Shelton is also on the training and supervisory staff of the Psychological Services Center in Oakland where she provides clinical and assessment supervision for doctoral trainees and provides training to the legal community on assessment of adolescents. She is also a Vendor Psychologist for the Regional Center of the East Bay where she performs Autism and Mental Retardation evaluations. |

Burton, Psy.D. - Psychological Assistant Dr. Burton is a graduate of the California Institute of Integral Studies, where he received the Institute Scholarship for excellence as a graduate student. He was worked with adults, children and families. Dr. Burton currently specializes in treating adults with ADHD as well as couples in which one or both of the partners have ADHD. He also specializes in neuro/psycho/educational assessments for adults and children. Dr. Burton is currently a psychological assistant working under the supervision of Dr. Keith Sutton and he expects to be fully licensed as a psychologist by August of 2011. |
| Jennifer Tan, L.C.S.W. - Social Worker Jennifer Tan, LCSW, cultivates genuine and compassionate relationships
with her clients while utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address
the impact of ADHD on academics, relationships, and family. She has
expertise in working with ADHD and substance abuse disorders and her
experience includes working in a nationally recognized inpatient
substance abuse program, and developing two outpatient adolescent

![]() | Joshua Israel, M.D. - Psychiatrist Dr. Israel is a psychiatrist specializing in the assessment and psychopharmacology of Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD). He completed his medical internship and psychiatric residency through Harvard University at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1999, followed by a combined UCSF/San Francisco VA clinical fellowship. Dr. Israel is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCSF and has written and lectured widely on contemporary pharmacologic treatments in psychiatry. He sees patients in his private practice, and as an independent practitioner he is the consulting psychiatrist for the Institute of Advancement of Psychotherapy on AD/HD-related issues. |

Virginia Reiss, M.S - Educational Psychologist, and Certified Educational Planner Virginia Reiss, M.S. is a licensed Educational Psychologist, and Certified Educational Planner. For over 25 years Virginia has worked with children and their families to find solutions to the problems evidenced in the educational environment. As a Credentialed School Psychologist, Virginia served with distinction in the public schools, working with children in elementary, middle schools and high schools. Many of these children had special needs such as learning disabilities, emotional problems, and/or out of control behavior. | |
Rebecca Robbins - Educational Therapist Rebecca Robbins is a certified Educational Therapist with over five years of experience working with AD/HD and dyslexic children and adults. Rebecca holds a California CLAD Teaching Credential, is a certified CHADD parent-to-parent instructor, and is the San Francisco chair for the advocacy organization CHADD.Rebecca Robbins is an insightful, compassionate problem-solver who loves working with her diverse clientele of energetic, dynamic thinkers.
